I am pretty sure 2017 has been the fastest year ever. It zoomed by for me and my family. I have been SO VERY EXCITED about this collection and I am glad I didn’t feel like I had to wait light years for it’s launch.
This is by far my favorite collection of mine to date and I am eager to hear what you all think of it. I began drawing for my Cool Vibes collection well before the assigned start date because as soon as I was given the task of coming up with a collection that was very true to my “style” I couldn’t wait any longer. Some of the images were even created for use as tattoos for customers of mine well before their addition to this collection. As is probably obvious by now I am an admirer of nature and organic shapes and elements. Flowers, plants, animals, gems; you name it and I have probably drawn or painted or colored it! Those elements are seen plainly here but I decided to combine many of those things with mandala and geometric style imagery which gives this collection an almost spiritual feeling for me. Which is why I decided to call it Cool Vibes.
Whether you are Buddhist, Islamic, Agnostic, Christian, Atheist or any other spiritual denomination – I feel that positive “vibes” or thoughts or feelings can only bring to good things into our lives. We need all of the positivity that we can manage in this life we have been given to live and I think art and creativity is a huge factor in happiness. Creativity is what sets us apart from the rest of the natural world. Let’s bring creativity and art and light and positivity into our lives in all areas that we can and in turn bring more positivity into the world!
I created several cards and some mixed media art using these stamps and had a blast doing it. I think they are very free flowing images and can be used for many occasions. Click images to enlarge.
Since I have a fondness for nature and conservation I try to be as resourceful as possible. I reused an old Sephora store bag for a card. I used old water-colored doodles and experiments as backgrounds. and I even stamped an image twice before cleaning off the stamp; therefore getting two impressions out of one ink application. I like doing this if I want a much softer image instead of harsh dark lines. Click images to enlarge.
This Cool Vibes collection has been a blast to create and now create WITH and I hope you all love it! Be sure to tag your creations with #CoolVibesStampandDieSet so that I can see all the pretty things you make with it!
