Creating special gift packages has been one of my most favorite ways to use my paper-crafting products, so the darling  Heart Flower Box Dies were first on my list to use when preparing my blog projects for you.

This gift box comes together very quickly and easily.  I die cut the bottom of my box from patterned paper and the top from plain white cardstock.  I then added a block of coordinating paper the top, followed by a layer of vellum.  Next came the dainty, die cut flowers which I used around the edges of my patterned paper to create a frame for my large flower in the center.

Next, I die cut strips of patterned paper to embellish the sides of my box.  The Heart Flower Box has all of these wonderful dies to complete your box however you wish.

Lastly, I cut several flowers from white cardstock using the Blooming Rose Dies.  After I had die cut them, I sponged on ink in a variety of pastels and spritzed each bloom with water to add a softened, water-colored look.  I finished by wrapping a strip of trim around my box and placing my large, layered flower in the center.

  1. I recently purchased the “Blooming Rose etched dies. Have any of the wonderful crafty people with Spellbinders done a video of how to assemble these roses? Thank You

    1. we don’t have a video at this time, but we will plan to film one in the upcoming weeks.
Have you tried cutting the petals/layers out of foamiran (specialty foam paper)? Marisa Job uses this material when making all of her gorgeous flowers. We have a video tutorial featuring foamiran and other flower dies, this should give you an idea of how to work with this material, it really makes creating beautiful dimensional flowers a very easy task https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTWBu4xGIgQ

  2. I have bought the S6-146 die. I am not sure how to put the box together. If I cut two of the box templates one does not as the lid. What am I doing wrong.

    1. Hello June!

Here are box instructions from Marisa Job, we hope this will help! Let us know if you have any other questions.

      1. To create the box, die cut 2 pieces using the Heart Flower Box Die, one is for the box base and the other piece is for the box lid.
      2. Apply double sided tape to all 8 tabs.
      3. When adhering the 4 tabs for the base of the box, make sure the tab is under the side of the box a bit passed the folding line. This will make the box base a little smaller.
      4. When adhering the 4 tabs for the lid of the box, make sure the tab is under the side of the box a bit before the folding line. This will make the box lid a little larger for a nice fit over the base of the box.
      5. Decorate the box with the optional flower overlay dies.

  3. Wonderful use of these new dies by Olga D. on Youtube.com.

Beautiful and creative as always. Spellbinders has the most awesome dies for those who want to step-up their card making skills.

  4. Great idea for little gift boxes. It’s true, good things come in sm all packages.
