Creating a Flourish Frame Pocket Wedding Card

Love a wedding, don’t you? Using S6-052 Flourish Frame Pocket Etched Dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Collection by Becca Feeken, I was able to create this wonderful 6 x 6″ wedding card. Hover over the image to see what products I used for this project.

Let’s get started! I cut the following pieces (in order of the image shown below): 4.50 x 5.75″ navy cardstock, 4.875 (7/8) x 5.75″ gold mirror cardstock and 5.25 x 6.0″ navy cardstock. The white card base is 5.75 x 6″.

Nest together the Pocket Frame and Pocket Insert Dies from Flourish Frame Pocket Etched Dies. Secure with repositionable tape. Place them on a piece of gold mirror cardstock. Run through the Spellbinders® Platinum™ Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Although the die has score lines, the paper is really thick and I didn’t wanted to risk “wrinkles” in the score lines so I used my scoring board to help make a crisp fold. Set aside.

Use the Top Insert Die from Flourish Frame Pocket Etched Dies, secured about 1/8″ from the top with repositionable tape. Cut with the Spellbinders® Platinum™ Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

After taking the die out of the navy cardstock with the Tool ‘n One™, stamp the sentiment with watermark ink and sprinkle white embossing powder over the stamped area. Tap off excess and melt the powder with a heating tool.

To adhere the navy cardstock to the gold card panel, I used a combination of my E-Z Runner® Grand and Adhesive Dots Mini and Micro for a strong hold against the smooth surface of the mirror cardstock.

Using the E-Z Runner® Ultra, I applied to the scored areas of the Pocket Die Cut. After slipping the heat embossed gold and navy card panel into the pocket. The entire ensemble was adhered to the white 6 x 6″ card base.

You have the option of adding your own personal message or a picture at the bottom of the gold and navy card panel. I just left mine as is and will write something inside of the card. To finish I added self-adhered white pearls. Here’s another look…
