Cut & Emboss Folders Inspiration | Everyday Cards With Enza

Hello, crafty friends! Enza Gudor here, and today I’m sharing the first of three blog posts featuring the amazing Cut and Emboss Folders collection.

I’m new to the Spellbinders blog, so I thought I would briefly introduce myself. I was born and raised in Italy, but moved to rainy Seattle thirteen years ago to be with the love of my life. I’m the proud mom to three adorable kids, passionate about paper crafting, photography and memory keeping. I started scrapbooking a few years ago, and only recently got passionate about card making. What I love the most is experimenting with new techniques and trends. I find it fun and inspiring.

The cards I have created for today’s post showcase four different Cut and Emboss Folders. I can’t tell you how much I loved using these clever products. The quality is amazing, and the details in the designs make them unique and truly a must-have in your stash.

For the first card, I used the Floret Cluster Cut and Emboss Folder.

I started working on my project by embossing two 4”x5.25” panels, one from white card stock and the other from patterned paper. I tried to stick to more neutral patterns while concentrating on color, as I wanted the embossed image to be the focus of the card. To create dimension, I fussy-cut a portion of the embossed pink ombre patterned paper and adhered it on top of the white card stock, making sure to lift the petals with foam dots.

For the sentiment, I added a layer of the same pink ombre paper behind it to create sort of a shadow, as well as some gold thread that just brought an extra element of interest to the card. I then matted the panel with black card stock before adhering it to my A2 card base. Black Nuvo drops completed the card.

The second card showcases the Flower Garden Cut and Emboss Folder.

As in the first card, you can notice the subtle look of the patterned paper and how well the embossed image comes through.

I decided to go with a vertical design this time. After passing the panel through my die-cutting machine, I trimmed it to measure 3.5”x5.25”, backed it with some darker pink card stock, and finished it with a thin strip of black card stock, as well as white and black polka dot patterned paper. To cover the seam, I wrapped black and white twine around the panel before adhering it down onto my A2 card base. A sentiment die cut and enamel dots in coordinating colors finished the card.

For my next card, I went with a shaker design. I love the intricacy of the Baroque Filigree Cut and Emboss Folder! It is just so beautiful and elegant!

I started by embossing my card panel, for which I used smooth white card stock. I covered the back portion of it with a piece of acetate cut to size, and foam adhesive, making sure to leave enough room around the negative spaces for the sequins to move freely and “shake”.

Next, I created the background paper by blending several colors of Distress Inks, and adhered it to the front panel after placing the sequins on it. The sentiment was heat-embossed on a strip of black card stock and placed across the bottom portion of the card, bringing in just the right amount of contrast. I finished the card with tiny flowers created with enamel dots.

My last card for today features the Rose Flourish Cut and Emboss Folder.

The technique here is very similar to the one I used for my first card. Lots of dimension achieved by embossing several patterned papers and adhering just portions of them on top of each other. I first fussy-cut the embossed image out of light patterned paper and glued it on top of the colored panel; then, I only cut the roses, and foam mounted them before arranging them on to the second layer of the card.

I matted the panel with black card stock, and completed it with a sentiment and black enamel dots.

How brilliant that you combine die cuts and embossing together and those cut and emboss folders are just gorgeous!!!

This is a really cool new product. Cardstock can look so “flat” and plain but when it’s embossed it has so much texture and interest. With die cuts in the design … well, who could ask for anything more!

The new Cut and Emboss folders appear to be so versatile. The designs shown by the designers are so elegant. The envelopes made by one of the designers are one of my favorite things on the whole blog hop.
