Spellbinders New Arrivals | Seth Apter Collection #4

Our in house creative designer Yana Smakula has created a project to share with you. At the end of the post we have details on a fun blog hop to inspire you featuring our designers and some amazing guest artists! And of course a chance to enter our giveaway!

Yana says: I had a blast making this standard size A2 card. I started working on my project by die-cutting the Lavender Trike out of X-press It paper in my Platinum 6 machine. I also embossed this piece to add a bit of additional detail.

The reason I picked X-press It paper and not my regular white cardstock is because I wanted to color this die cut using Copic markers. These die cuts look best when colored so I pulled out a few colors of markers and first colored the bike and planters grey, lavender stems green and lavender flowers purple.

I also die-cut an identical shape out of white fun foam covered with sticky sheets on both front and back. I adhered my colored die cut onto the fun foam die cut and next onto the card.

To create a background for this project I used woodgrain patterned paper and distressed its edges with scissors. I even ripped some of the edges for a more worn out look. I adhered my woodgrain paper onto another sheet of vintage-looking paper and added my Lavender Trike die cut on top.

Finally,  I added glue onto the lavender flowers and adhered micro beads in purple to add some interest and texture.

Hop along!
