One Size Doesn’t Fit All In Christmas Card Giving

How many of you make one batch of Christmas cards and call it done – everyone gets the same card?  Hi, I’m Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace and today I’ll let you in on a little secret.  I normally make three cards to fit my giving, because one size does not fit all.  Today I’m sharing my easy to make card that I know I’ll make if I’ve forgotten anyone during my holiday mailing.

Deciding what Christmas cards the bulk of my family and acquaintances will get is hard!  We all have people who know we make cards but might not keep or curate them.  On the other hand, we all have people who wait with baited breath to get their handmade card.   That’s a wide gap to fill, and then there is always the last minute card.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All – My Quick Strategy

  • Don’t forget to design an over the top card that a hand full of people will get.
  • Design a fun mass producible card that the bulk of acquaintances will get.
  • Be sure to design an interchangeable card where the focal panel changes out based on the recipient.

Thankfully, these three take care of most of my card giving needs during the holiday and accommodate my last minute needs if I’ve forgotten anyone.

For my simple interchangeable card I used a 5 x 7″ card base.  I created a focal panel with Emeline Treillage using the scalloped rim.  On top of that I used the corner piece/photo corner from Graceful Corners One.  What’s more, when used in all four corners, the corner piece makes an excellent place to slip a panel with a sentiment.

I’m all set!  If it’s a child’s card or someone who might not need an elegant or serious card, it’s so simple to change out the panel!!

Sharing handmade, especially handmade Christmas is an excellent way to create anticipation year after year!
