Maker Moments: Boy and Girl Whimsy Birthday Cards with Die D-Lites

Today Michelle and I are bringing you a boy and girl card from our Die D-Lites™ Line. The neatest part of these two sets (S2-230 Pretty Princess and S2-229 Little Guy), as well as the majority of our Die D-Lites, is the ability to emboss and stencil the images. Embossing and stenciling give a dimensional look to the
particular die-cut piece.

Girl Card (S2-230 Pretty Princess)

Use a blending tool to add blue ink to the piece of white cardstock that has been cut smaller than the card base. (This is the paper inside the oval.) The hill was hand cut and adhered to the page. The die-cut castle was added to the hill. (We love using metallic gold and silver poster board for our die-cut pieces!) Draw tiny stars using a white pen. Die-cut an oval from the Nestabilities Die line on a piece of white cardstock that has been cut slightly larger than the first paper used for the clouds. Adhere to the cloud piece
using pop-dots. Die-cut, emboss and stencil the carriage. Attached the die-cut gold wheels and add
curtains€ using white cardstock. Finishing off the piece, attach the die-cut wand and crown and stamp the sentiment.

Boy Card (S2-229 Little Guy)

Hand-cut a hill and add a rectangular-piece of black cardstock for the road. These are placed onto the blue cloud-patterned paper base, matted onto green cardstock and then onto the card
base. Different colors of cardstock were die-cut and embossed to create the truck and cars. Adhering the cars to the base with pop-dots adds dimension to the cars as well. (This is probably my favorite “go-to” item
for card creating!)
The sentiment was stamped and the road was embellished using a white pen. Not super complicated but definitely fun!

Hope you enjoyed today’s cards. We would love to create for you in mind so drop us a line if there is something you would like to see here!
