You know how we love our Try Day Friday series! Each Friday afternoon on the FSJ Facebook page, and YouTube channel we come to you LIVE with a new cardmaking or crafting idea. This week General Manager Nicole Westervelt had some fun and shared a beautiful and fun project we think you will love! You can see the video right here.
Isn’t that stunning? It’s really very simple, but the impact is HUGE. We love the gold accents and easy and fun watercoloring technique that Nicole used. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we?
The color palette is rich and wine inspired, to be sure. This Raspberry Berry Cardstock is the base, embossed using the Diamond Netting embossing folder. But, the real winner here is the Gold PanPastel. Rubbing a light layer [use a light hand!] over the card you get the subtle shimmer and sheen. It makes a beautiful backdrop for this card.
The Wine And Cheese ATS has so many little fun pieces and we’ve stamped them in a whimsical manner. Then, one of our favorites to color them in! A clear block, the 36 & 37 Journey Color Splash Pencils and the Journey Blending Brush — then brush some of the color with the brush onto the block. Once you have a color you are happy with, start to paint! No need to stay in the lines, part of the charm is the watery and semi-“messy” look. A little Journey Glaze adds the dimension we love and the end results are just so pretty and perfect with the gold accents.
We couldn’t help but play a little bit more with the same supplies on a tag. Isn’t it perfect for adorning a bottle of wine you might give as a hostess gift? It’s fun to create and comes together oh so easily!
Have you picked up the Wine & Cheese ATS? Will you now after seeing what Nicole has created? Make sure you share with us on our Facebook page or by using the #funstampersjourney hashtag on Instagram, we’d love to see your take on the card, tag or ANYTHING FSJ.
