Hello, Fun friends! We are so very excited to share with you today because we think you’re going to be so excited about what we’re sharing with you. You know and love Fun Stampers Journey products, right? Well, today Creative Director Kim Kesti is sharing some Spellbinders stamps with our beautiful Liquid Colors. Would you like to watch how Kim paired these two together? You can do so right here! Let’s not delay, lets add color.
Isn’t this one lovely? As you can see it’s super simple, just a couple of steps and you have something amazing to send to your loved ones. Let’s talk about how Kim made this stunning feather the perfect way to say thanks!
The first step is to choose the color palette of Liquid Colors. Kim chose Lemon Drop, Cool Pool and Limeade Splash to create a soothing and beautiful combination. Not only do they look pretty together, they blend nicely together. Speaking of blending, Kim used the small Dauber Dowel to blend each color and then blending the colors where they meet on the feather. Once finished, the Details Pro Shears are the perfect way to fussy cut the feather from the Whip Cream Cardstock panel.
Isn’t there something beautiful about the way the colors pop off of the Black Licorice Cardstock? And what about the white leaves that are heat embossed onto the black cardstock behind the floral cluster? It’s just completely amazing how this card is so pretty with the dimension and the watercolor effect florals. Speaking of the water color effect, let’s see how Kim created it on this particular card.
This beautiful, mottled effect was created by using the common, and very technical, “smooshing” technique! Meaning, on a slick surface [we like the clear sheets that come with the FSJ stamp sets] we add a few drops of Liquid Color [on this card Kim used Watermelon Fusion, Banana Cream, Sweet Pear and Cool Pool] and some water from our Media Mister. After spreading this puddle of color on the sheet, you can smoosh the Whip Cream cardstock onto it. VOILA! It’s so pretty. You’ll repeat this all over the cardstock, being careful with the placement, until you have the desired effect. Once it’s dried, stamp your flowers using the Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink Pad and fussy cut them out.
We’ve got one more stunning card, are you ready? Let’s not delay!
It’s so pretty and simple, too. Truly, if you can hold a pencil, you can create this beautiful effect.
Kim stamped the Floral Love stamp slightly off the Whip Cream Panel using the Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink Pad. Now, the fun begins! Using a few drops of Liquid Color [Banana Cream, Orange Creamsicle, Watermelon Fusion, Sweet Pear and Cool Pool] and your Blending Brush you paint your stamped image! Kim added a bit of water to each color to make the color a little less intense. Once the first layer of painting was complete, she painted strategically over certain parts of the image to add depth. It ends up so very pretty.
