How to Make a One-Sheet 3-Pocket Mini Card

Hello crafty friends! We have such a fun project to share with you today. But first, let’s take a look back at a project we shared earlier this year. One of our best-loved recent projects was the one sheet 3-pocket card that Nicole shared during our Follow Your Heart live event. With one sheet of 12×12 cardstock, Nicole taught us how to use the FSJ Scoring Board to make a darling accordion-folded card with pockets to fit gift cards, notes, photos and more.

Here’s a reminder of that project -we’ll link up the tutorial at the end of this post.

Since we all love that project, we couldn’t help but revisit it with a fresh new take. Today we have a mini version of this pocket card. The original Valentines card was 3×6-inches when it was folded up, but today’s mini version is only 2×4 when it’s folded. No 12×12 cardstock? No problem! This one only needs a 6×8 panel of cardstock. Are you ready to take a look?

How SWEET is this?! Three mini pockets, and a cover to decorate. Are you ready to learn how to make this One Sheet Mini Pocket Card

1.First, trim a sheet of cardstock 6×8 inches. Lay cardstock on scoring board as shown below. (8-inch side down, and 6-inch side across.) Score panel at the 2-inch mark.

2. Next, rotate cardstock 90 degrees and score cardstock at 2, 4, and 6.

Trim bottom left square from panel.

Fold up panel with remaining three squares. (These will be your three pockets.)

Use the FSJ Corner Rounder/Notch Tool to cut a notch from the center of each pocket.

Accordion-fold to create pocket panels. Then, begin decorating!

We trimmed patterned paper strips (1.75×3.75-inches) to layer behind each pocket, and then we filled the pockets with the smallest tag from the Tag Set Steel Rule Die. It fits perfectly in the pockets! We loved playing with new stamps and dies from the Easy Breezy Spring Collection to decorate our project.

When you’re finished, simply fold and clip the layers together for a sweet gift! Imagine how you could create this mini pocket card for Mother’s Day, graduation, Father’s Day or birthdays. There are so many possibilities with either of our One-Sheet Pocket Cards!
