Bold Type Inspiration | Clean & Simple Cards with Cassie

Hi all! It’s Cassie from Creatively Cass, and I’m here to share some fun projects using the new Bold Type Collection by Spellbinders! When I saw these fun word dies I just loved the bigger size as well as the unique texture layer to them 🙂 There are so many fun projects you could make with these dies, but of course my mind went straight to card designs!

In my first project I wanted to show how cute it is to layer the two sizes of word dies. Each set comes with a regular word die, and a version with striped embossing marks on them. For this card I did some washi tape stripes and ink blended on some color to a pink card base. Then I die cut my words and adhered them together with glue.

In this photo you can really see the line detail. The word dies are simple, and can be used on their own or combined with other products. In this card design I went with the Die D-Lites Bold Type Happy Day Etched Dies. I love the phrase “happy day” and feel it’s perfect for so many occasions!

I also love covering a card base with die cuts and ink blending over it, which is what I did here. I die cut the textured version of the Die D-Lites Bold Type Hello Etched Die and adhered it all over an A2 size card base. Then I ink blended Distress Oxide ink over the front to give a rainbow effect.

I also layered up the regular “hello” from the set and put it at the center of the card in white to really give it a focal point. I love how soft and pretty this one turned out.

I wanted to do something a little more glittery for my last card, so I combined some of the techniques I used in the last two cards. I used some washi tape to ink blend the triangles onto a card base, then I started die cutting my sentiment. I created my own glitter paper with some sticky paper and loose glitter and die cut the Die D-Lites Bold Type Thank You Etched dies from it. I also die cut the same dies from vellum and adhered them together with glue.

The sentiment was adhered to the card and it was complete! It has the best of both worlds.

I had so much fun working with these dies and I think they will be awesome for so many projects. Which phrase from the new release is your favorite? Mine has to be Happy Day, followed closely by Smile! Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my projects!! I hope you enjoyed them and I hope you’ll come back soon to see more crafty fun!
