Fall Traditions Collection Inspiration with Andrea Shell

Hello! It’s Andrea Shell (www.blissfullyscrappy.net) with you today, and I am delighted to be guesting for Spellbinders! I am so ready for fall and had a lovely time creating with the gorgeous Fall Traditions Collection whilst dreaming of cooler temps and warmer colors.

The Fall Traditions Collection pairs beautifully with the Open House Collection released in July, so for my first card I’ve also used the Open House Door Base and Door Side Panel Die Sets. I backed the windows of the door and side panels with acetate and gray cardstock.

For my background I trimmed white cardstock to a 5 1/2″ square and scored it to give the impression of siding. To my scored panel, I adhered the welcome mat from the new Open House Thankful Dies and glued the door and side panels above it.

I die-cut the pots and pumpkins with the Open House Pumpkin Topiary Dies. I love the details in these dies! After adhering the elements together, I attached the topiaries and pumpkins to the card with foam squares.

I die-cut a bunch of leaves with the Mini Fall Blooms Dies and arranged them around the door to create a garland. I tucked some extra leaves into the topiaries to tie the garland and topiaries together. Now, I can’t wait to do some fall decorating in my own home!

This turkey from the Happy Turkey Day Dies is so cute and so easy to assemble! After die-cutting the various elements, I adhered them together with liquid adhesive. To the turkey’s eye, I added a highlight with a white gel pen and colored the buckle on the hat with a gold glitter pen.

I absolutely love the texture created by the Falling Leaves Embossing Folder! I first die-cut green cardstock with the Essential Ovals Dies and then embossed the panel. Using the panel as a placement guide, I gold heat-embossed a sentiment from the Charming Pumpkins stamp set. While stamping, I did a bit of masking in order to have the words stacked.

I attached the embossed panel to my card with foam tape and affixed the turkey with foam squares (I layered two squares behind the portions that extend into the oval). To embellish the card, I die-cut leaves with the Autumn Leaves Dies and acorns with the Mini Fall Blooms Dies. I adhered the leaves with liquid adhesive at the stems and foam squares at the edges for a bit of dimension. Finally, I scattered gold sequins inside the oval.

For my final card, I decided to make a mini slimline card measuring 3″ x 6″. I embossed tan cardstock with the Falling Leaves Embossing Folder, trimmed it down, and adhered it to a 3″ x 6″ panel of white cardstock. I die-cut the Grateful Sentiments Steps Dies twice – once from green and another from brown cardstock. After adhering the green strip to my white panel, I inlaid the brown letters.

Above the green strip, I stamped one of the pumpkins from the Charming Pumpkins stamp twice. Onto a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped another pumpkin from the set in brown ink. I colored that pumpkin with Copics, fussy-cut it, and adhered it to my card with dimensional adhesive.

I created the banners with the Open House Thankful Dies and glued them to my card, trimming off the excess. Finally, I adhered the panel to a white card and finished with a scattering of gold sequins.
