Open House Spring Card by Joy Baldwin

Hi crafty friends, my name is Joy Baldwin (aka Create It With Joy). I love making handmade cards and sharing them with you. If you want to check out more of my creations, head over to my blog.

The Open House Collection is so cute and the Open House Spring Die is no exception. I used the flower on top of the door but, there is also a super cute bunny and balloon. I decided to go the classic route with this design. I went with black and white for the main colors.

I die cut the door, window frames (from the Open House Door Base Die), and part of the rug from Ebony cardstock. I added some vellum behind the window frames to give the look of frosted glass. I die cut the doorknob, mailbox opening, and part of the rug from gold mirror cardstock. The wreath and leaves were die cut from white and Fairway cardstock.

I used yellow and brown cardstock for the center and then adhered that to the flower petals and attached that on the top of the door. I die cut two wreaths to give it a fuller look and added a few white flowers. I glued that to the door.

For the background, I used white cardstock and scored lines every ½” to give the look of siding. I added the door and rug with foam tape behind it for dimension. I finished the card by adding a couple of white flowers at the bottom. I added this to an A2-sized card base.
