Fresh & Beautiful Die Cutting | TryDay Friday

You know how we love our Try Day Friday series!  Each Friday afternoon on our Facebook page, we share a new technique with you LIVE.  Isn’t that so fun?  This week Creative Director Kim Kesti is using some old favorites, some leaf dies with our True Color Fusion Ink pads.  Not only are the results stunning but it’s such a good way to use dies you might not always reach for AND experiment with color palettes. If you’d like to watch on our YouTube channel, you can see the video right here.  Make sure you leave Kim a comment and let her know how much you enjoyed her technique & card and appreciate her sharing fun ideas with all of us.

At first glance it could seem like there was some very complicated technique at play [or some printed paper!] with this beautiful card and especially on those lovely branches. But, I assure you, it’s actually so simple and the results are just amazing. We love the color palette, too. It feels fresh and quite like spring, even if it is only January!

Kim chose this amazing combo of ink pads to blend. There is Pineapple Smoothie, Peaches & Cream, Pool Play and Sour Lemon. And if you’re curious about the Sour Lemon, check out how beautifully it blends with both the Peaches & Cream as well as the Pool Play. It really is all very seamless after using the large Dauber Dowel to blend those colors out over the Whip Cream Cardstock.

FSJ TryDay Friday Blending Card 3

Before now it just looked like some random colors blended on cardstock. But once you put the branch/leaf dies [Kim used Blooming Details, Greenhouse and Bloom Cluster die sets] into the equation, you’ve got some stunning leaves that are absolutely the picture of a lovely spring day! You can take those and mix and match them on a Whip Cream cardstock panel to create our simple card that really wows!

Would you like to watch the card come together? Let’s do that right here:

It’s not really near spring for most of the country but we cannot help but think of blooms on trees with a card like this!  How about you? Does this card make you ready for the spring season?  Either way, if you create some spring inspired projects make sure you share with us because we love to see what you create.  Post your project on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram so we can see.
