Hello everyone, Yana is here sharing my love for die cutting today.
Every time we create a die cut we have a positive piece (usually something we intended to cut) and a negative (something that is being discarded in most cases). Interestingly negative pieces can also be used in variety of creative ways on our projects.
I’m inviting you to create a unique background for a card, art journal, planner or just about anything else using dies and repeated negative die cutting technique.
The idea is to take one or several dies and cut them out repeatedly from a sheet of cardstock to create a background made out of negative space. I’m using Spellbinders’ Hipster 1 die set, a Coffee cup die in particular for my project today and cutting it 9 times out of a 4 by 5.5″ sheet of cardstock to create a one of a kind die cut background.
Just about any shape can be used to create a background like this. Think about using hearts, circles, arrows or other.
Other supplies: Craft, Green and White Cardstock; Glitter Tape; Clear Stamps; Ink; Gold Thread; Enamel Dots.
