Maker Moments: DIY Paper Succulents

Hi Friends,

Welcome back to Maker Moments. Debi is away at the Paper Arts show, so you are stuck with me for another week. Words cannot convey how obsessed I am with succulents. Our dies are the perfect tool to help you create your very own succulent garden. This week I used
Rose Creations,Bitty Blossoms, and Spiral Blossoms One. All you need to create these succulents are our dies, cardstock, adhesive and inks.

In preparation for this blog post, I researched the themes associated with the word succulent. Understated, enduring and timeless love are some of the attributes surrounding its meaning. When I read the word ‘enduring’€, I immediately thought of my sister. Last year she was diagnosed with cancer. My sister underwent chemo and is now cancer free, back to work and taking care of her family. Much like the succulent, she came out courageous, resilient, and full of hope. I am so honored to call her my sister.

From this experience, I started thinking how easy it is to get caught up in our own lives. We forget to make time to let people know how special they are and what they mean to us. I don’t want the people in my life to ever doubt the love and thoughts I have towards them.

These paper succulents are going to be given to the best human I know, my sister Lorie. I hope in some small way this helps to brighten her day and serve as a reminder that she is very special to me.

I hope you feel inspired to let someone know how much you appreciate them. Thank you for stopping by.

See you next week,

Michelle

  1. Is there a video on how to construct this project. Maker Moments: DIY Paper Succulents. Looks like it could be turned into a bouquet for a child’s dress-up, or centerpiece. well, for a lot of things.

    Thanks, Lauralee
