Maker Moments: For You Upcycle Fairmont Purse

Happy Monday to all! What a busy weekend it has been! Both Michelle and I had a lot on our plates, both in and out of the office. However, we did not forget to schedule in a Maker Moments project 🙂

We have a quickie project to share with you, using the Art Deco Fairmont Decorative Elements set (coming soon in our store next month but ask for it at your favorite retailer!) from the new Art Deco Collection created by Stacey Caron Designs.

We love to upcycle/recycle things so using a neglected bag from Debi’s closet, we decided to give it a “new” look.

First, die cut all of the Fairmont Decorative Elements dies from white cardstock, layer the die cuts together and then add a sentiment (in this case, Debi’s beautiful handwriting!). Score the top part of the layered die cut pieces (this is where we want it to fold over the top of the bag) and adhere it in place.

By adding an embellishment to resemble a purse closure and a bow on the back of the embellishment, gives it a classic look. A handle created with gold beads strung on a wire was adhered to the inside of the bag. SEE! We no longer have just a bag but a purse! What do you think?

Simply said, we are always happy to share with you here on the blog where all our projects are intentionally manageable!

Have a great Monday!
