Hello and welcome! I’m Janette Kausen and I have been addicted to the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System for months now. This healthy addiction has brought the wow factor to a myriad of my recent projects. Today, I am showcasing how Glimmer Hot Foil brings basic printed paper or designs up to the glamorous notch with Glimmer Hot Foil plate designs by Paul Antonio.

Patterned paper either multiplies, or I am a collector. Neither can be confirmed or denied. Pairing up the Glimmer Hot Foil System with preprinted papers, backgrounds I’ve created, or other simple designs has helped to alleviate my overflowing stash while creating fun and glammed up projects.

This card, my favorite of the three, is created with preprinted watercolor paper. The juxtaposition of the bold Pink foiled fussy cut Copperplate Script Love over fine Gold foiled Feathers in the Wind standard dies is divine! Remember: regular cutting dies can be used to foil as well by adding a cardstock shim or two to the sandwich providing firm pressure to allow the foil to transfer evenly. Foil all the things! Add a heat embossed sentiment strip popped up with foam tape and adhere finished panel to A2 folded card base.

The elegant Copperplate I Love You Script Glimmer Hot Foil Plate takes this simple self sketched and watercolored heart to a whole new level. Hot foiling on thick papers provides a letterpress effect where you can see the foil design recessed into the surface of the paper adding another level of detail to an otherwise basic design. The fancy Gold sentiment shines among a few sequins and is matted on black card stock, then to an A2 folded card base.

Today’s final project continues the love theme with a snarky sentiment highlighted by a Heart Flourish Glimmer Plate foiled in Red over a preprinted text background. Pop primary and secondary sentiment with foam tape and add a few sequins for additional sparkle. Complete card by matting on red card stock and adhering finished panel to A2 folded card base.
