Sharyn Sowell Holiday 2019 Inspiration | Clean & Simple Holiday Cards with Jill Hawkins

Greetings to all you creative people! I’m Jill Hawkins and I’m happy to join you here today to share a few cards I made. Let me just say, I am super happy to have Holiday cards ready to go in August already! Thank you, Spellbinders!

First up, I have this sweet little winter card, using Winter Friends Dies from Sharyn Sowell Holiday 2019 Collection.

For this card, I created a wintery background and thought it would be fitting to match the sentiment strip with the adorable silhouette images. I offset the silhouette images slightly, to create a little “shadow”. if you will.

This card turned out so sweet and would be easily replicated if you wanted a dozen! Quick and simple! The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled, cloud stencil from My Favorite Things and star stencil from Winnie & Walter.

Next up, I have this colorful holiday thank you card. I don’t generally mail handmade cards for the holidays anymore, but I do mail handmade thank you cards o’ plenty! So I thought this card, made with the Starry Forest Dies from Sharyn Sowell Holiday 2019 Collection would be perfect for bulk projects. I made another card using all these dies, but unfortunately, I dropped some ink on it and I figured that was a sign to make something altogether different. Have you done this? If you have, you feel my pain!

I think this color blocking leads to endless combos and enables you to make thank you cards in bulk! For this, I trimmed up the cardstock block and adhered them to some light weight paper. Then I die cut the tree from the center. (Which, side note, also gives you a fun negative to use on another card!)

That tree makes the card just pop!  This sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Lastly, I have this very simple card – absolutely perfect for mass production! This die, Love Came Down Dies from Sharyn Sowell Holiday 2019 Collection makes super quick work with one simple detailed die cut!

I scored the panel on the background for some interest, but you could easily skip this step. I then die cut and glued the die down, added some quick stitching and done! This would be so manageable to create dozens of cards in an afternoon! The hardest part would be picking color combos!
