Magical Deer: Christmas and Beyond with Joan Bardee
Joan Bardee here and I am honored to share 3 ways to use the gorgeous Magical Deer Etched Dies from the Winter Tales Collection. They were designed by the talented Zsoka Marko and fit beautifully with the rest of that Collection. The first thing I thought of when I saw this die set was folk art. After looking at dozens of folk-art designs on Pinterest, I was inspired to make a few cards with dark backgrounds. After years of making white-only backgrounds, it’s fun to try something new. For these cards, I used black, but any dark background, particularly a deep cranberry, green, or navy would be awesome. Magical Christmas…

Celebrate the Season – in July! with Joan Bardee
Christmas in July? Yes, please! Joan Bardee here and I am delighted to share 3 cards using some of the new products in Spellbinders’ Celebrate the Season Collection. MORE HOLIDAY DECORATIONS One of my favorite Christmas card techniques is to take a small stamp or die and use it repeatedly to form a tree. I did that with the small ornament die in More Holiday Decorations, using 4 different shades of blue cardstock along with gold glitter paper for the bows. Hot foiled a sentiment from Glitter Wishes using Gold Glimmer Hot Foil onto navy cardstock and die cut. Formed the tree, using foam to adhere each ornament onto a…

I removed the piercing holes with the Tool ‘n One and then the pieces adhered together with Bearly Art Glue for added stability. Using red, green, and gold thread/floss, I stitched the pattern. The ‘joy’…
