Susan’s Tropical Getaway Collection – Card Inspiration with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Tropical Getaway Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The gorgeous exotic flowers in this collection inspired me to create two bright floral cards featuring realistic blooms for different occasions. I loved the sprig of petite and pretty blooms in the Plumeria Die Set, so I decided to try these first. Although you can color these flowers in several bright colors, I opted for the white variety and added a pretty sunset background on this simple foiled anniversary card. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4.75” x…

Inspiration with Susan’s Garden Club Collection with Andrea Shell
Hello! It’s Andrea Shell back with you sharing three projects created with the gorgeous Susan’s Garden Club Collection. For all of my projects, I followed Susan’s method of coloring (with Copics) and shaping the flowers as demonstrated in her videos on the Spellbinders YouTube channel. I die cut all of the flowers from Susan’s Specialty Cardstock and used her Ultimate Tool Kit to shape the flowers. For my first card, I combined the cute rainboots from the Oriental Lilies and Wellies Dies with the flowers from the Gladiolus and Berry Picking Basket Dies. When my daughter was little, she had a pair of pink, polka dot rainboots, so I patterned these…

Susan’s Garden Club Collection – Floral Card Trio with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Garden Club Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The gorgeous blooms and unique planters in this collection inspired me to create three bright and cheery floral cards featuring realistic blooms in all different vessels. I loved the big bold blooms in the Cactus Dahlia and Ornamental Garden Pottery Die Set, so I decided to try these first. My favorite variety of dahlia is coral-tipped and I tried to emulate this with paper on this bright thank you card. Die cut Barely Peach Cardstock with the flower dies…

Dimensional Poinsettia DIY | Spellbinders Live
Join Kim Kesti in the Creative Classroom as she creates a beautiful realistic poinsettia from Susan’s Holiday Flora Collection, from Spellbinders’ licensed designer Susan Tierney-Cockburn. Watch video below or on our Youtube channel: Poinsettia are the quintessential holiday flower, aren’t they? Susan’s Poinsettia die set is fairly simple and it’s a great floral die set to begin with. One of the best features of these five simple dies are the unique markings to show you how many times to cut each die (2x, 1x, etc.). You’ll see on the large die, it says 2X, which reminds you to cut this die two times to create the red leaves, (then cut one or…

Susan’s Holiday Flora Collection – Christmas Card Inspiration with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Holiday Flora Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. The gorgeous holiday flowers, fun accessories, and beautiful sentiments in this collection inspired me to create three oversized and dimensional Christmas cards featuring realistic-looking leaves and blooms. Poinsettias are one of my favorite flowers to create out of paper, but I’ve never made one quite so realistic as this! I added a bright pink version to a bed of pine sprigs as an accent for the beautiful Garden Lantern in the collection on this elegant slimline card. Die cut…

Holiday Flora Inspiration with Caly Person

Susan’s collections have been a favorite of mine from the start and I was so excited to be able to use these holiday products and share them with you! Christmas Amaryllis My first card uses the Amaryllis die. I die-cut the flowers from white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers (R32, R35, R37, R39). For the stem and leaves, I die-cut the pieces of green cardstock and added some shading using Copic markers (G21, G24, G46). I also die-cut the stamen from…

Happy Harvest Collection Inspiration with Jennifer Kotas
Hello! I’m Jennifer Kotas from Who Stole My Glitter. I’m so happy to be on The Spellbinders Blog today. I’ve got three cards to share with you using the Happy Harvest Collection by Nichol Spohr. All three cards feature moody, autumnal backgrounds created using Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. To create the backgrounds, I started with watercolor paper an inch or so larger than I needed. I scribbled color at the top of the paper, then proceeded down the paper with each additional color. Next, I sprayed it gently with water to get the color moving and moved the paper from side to side, soaking up any pooling with a towel.…

Susan’s Spring Flora Collection Inspiration with Bibi Cameron
Hello from Scotland, This is Bibi Cameron and today I’m sharing three easy ideas using some of the die sets and stamps from the new Susan’s Spring Flora Collection. These cards also feature an idea to create easy collapsible 3D frames. Spirea Bridal Wreath The idea to create 3D collapsible frames was born when I was looking for alternatives to add dimension to my projects avoiding the stiffness of double sided adhesive foam tape, and also easy mailing. To make this kind of frames all you will need to cut your paper 2″ wider than the width of the die you want to use to cut the center window. Then,…
